The Samuel Goldwyn, Jr.
Center for Behavioral Health
Our renowned retirement community and unique programs meet the evolving needs of today's generation of seniors. As part of our next phase of care delivery, we offer The Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. Center for Behavioral Health, a specialized center for adults over 55 years of age who have acute mental health needs.
Inpatient Geriatric Services
The center is housed in a newly-constructed and contemporary facility featuring 12 private patient rooms and an outdoor recreational space on the beautiful Wasserman Campus in Woodland Hills.
It has been designed aesthetically and functionally to meet the unique mental healthcare needs of older adults, and is available to the community at large, as well as for the entertainment community, which is MPTF's core constituency.
The Samuel Goldwyn, Jr. Center for Behavioral Health provides inpatient services in affiliation with UCLA Health and treats such conditions as:
- Bipolar disorder
- Substance abuse
Interdisciplinary Approach to Care
The center utilizes an individualistic interdisciplinary approach, inviting patients and families to be integral contributors to each treatment plan. The staff partners with patients and families to rapidly relieve symptoms, optimize functional status, and develop aftercare plans to continue the healing process. Recovery is facilitated by a dedicated team including a psychiatrist, internist, nursing staff, social worker, and recreation therapy staff to meet comprehensive individualized goals.
Patients will receive:
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily
- Medical consultation
- Daily psychiatric evaluation
- Group therapy
- Case management
- Activities including exercise, art therapy, and pet therapy
Referrals of entertainment industry and non-industry patients are welcome.
