Be Creative and Be Smart
MPTF Studios and Media Center
Creativity is ageless. That’s why MPTF Studios and Media Center provides MPTF residents with a unique opportunity to create original programing for the community at MPTF’s Wasserman Campus. Shows are broadcast throughout the grounds, into cottages and rooms, as well as to our YouTube page for families of residents and for the public to enjoy.
We’re mindful of sharing industry knowledge and job skills and, because of this, MPTF Studios is truly intergenerational. Residents, professionals, and industry volunteers work side-by-side with local high school youth who are interested in a career in the entertainment industry. We also foster fulfilling relationships by developing programs and partnerships with entertainment industry professionals, organizations, and companies.
The result is a combination of amazing experiences and incredible programs that speak volumes about the extraordinary people who are a part of the MPTF community.

MPTF offers a stimulating variety of educational topics for seniors. Topics are either presented by MPTF experts or provided through partnerships with local community colleges, senior centers and more. Some classes are offered via telephone, so that seniors with transportation issues can still participate.

MPTF has a potpourri of offerings in the community (Burbank, Toluca Lake, Hollywood/LA, West L.A.), as well as on campus. Solo classes, Community Conversations (panel presentations on topics such as planning finances for later in life, Medicare 101, community service resources, downsizing, decluttering, theft prevention), and our 4-to-6 week courses for those who want to learn about and develop skills related to memory enhancement, caregiving, balance and fall prevention, pain management are offered, as well as a variety of MPTF sponsored courses at OASIS (Santa Monica) and through Telephone Topics—a MPTF sponsored national program that is free to those who enroll through MPTF. Intended for those who are at home—perhaps recovering from a surgery or illness, or those who are at home due to caregiving responsibilities or difficulty getting out and around. A wide range of courses are provided to small telephone groups by specially selected educators. Topics vary monthly --chair yoga, art history, entertainment history, cooking, etc. The calendar of offerings is expansive. There is something for everyone!
