Golden Boot Awards

People from all areas of show business lend their skills, passion, and most importantly, their talents to a wide variety of Motion Picture & Television Fund fundraising efforts. No other organization has the ability to bring together the brightest stars from film and television to create unique events that raise money and awareness to benefit the MPTF mission.

The Golden Boot Awards was held from 1983 – 2007

Once referred to as the ‘Academy Awards of the Western’ the Golden Boot Awards were established to recognize performers, stunt people, producers, and directors who furthered the tradition of the Western on film and in television.

The last Golden Boot Awards was held in 2007 and honored Viggo Mortensen, Martin Kove, Lee Horsley, Walt La Rue, Caruth Byrd, and Academy Award-winning actress Eva Marie Saint.

In 2007, the Golden Boot Founders Award was presented to Patrick Wayne on behalf of his father, the legendary John Wayne. Jacqueline Autry, wife of western icon Gene Autry received the Champion Award.
